I recently replaced my low beam T 3 headlamps with new Halogen bulbs. I assume that the wiring is okay to support the additonal power draw of the Halogen bulbs?

I don't think that this will present any problem, at all. The halogen-type sealed beams have pretty much replaced the older style bulbs. In fact, you'd probably have to look hard to find any of the old type assuming you wanted them. If the halogen bulbs caused any wiring problems when used in older cars, then I think you'd see a lot of older cars with burned up wiring. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: some Hella replacement lamps will
Same thing as happened in the '60s when some tried 100 Watt aircraft landing lights as high beams!Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: some Hella replacement lamps will
I put a set of aircraft landing lights in my hi-beams of my 64 Corvair when I was in college. Never melted anything but they would "flicker" after being on a short time. Great fun tho when the oncoming jackass wouldn't dim his brights!!- Top

Re: some Hella replacement lamps will
Landing lights in place of high beams will also cause heart stopping events, like running over 100 mph when the added amperage causes the breaker in the switch to trip. Don't ask me how I know about this, but I was 40 years younger when it happened.Dick Whittington- Top
