1959 Paint Finish Factory and Dealer

I know the 1959 paint finish was buffed at the factory, but was it waxed and detailed at the factory or the dealer? What was done to the interior and exterior paint finish before going into the dealer showroom? Thanks in advance. Jimmy

There was no waxing or detailing done at the factory; it was buffed at the end of the Paint Shop, possibly again if/when it went through Final Paint Repair (which most did), and it was shipped.

Whatever the dealer prep guy did was up to the dealer (and the customer if he had complaints), but waxing/detailing/buffing wasn't part of the normal dealer prep procedure Chevy paid the dealers to do.
