Re: Cool Pix #1
Thanks for posting those wonderful magazine covers, Joe. Kinda reminds me of the time in '54 or 55, mom was driving us boys to Indiana to see our grandparents. When we passed through part of Pennsylvania, a gas war provided us with 12.5 cents per gallon full tank. Later down the road, we saw gas for 11.3 cents par gallon.
Those were the days!!!

Re: Cool Pix #1
I remember the old gas station Coca Cola machines, full service, free gifts with fill up, the great ting sound the gas pump would make...even stations that had Indians you could get your picture taken with.
These covers remind me of those days.
Simpler times, more time with the family, less electronic entertainment, baseball cards, summer games, marbles, hand held transistor radios and so much more.
I remember visiting with an old timer that was showing me his Model T. He showed me how one was grown up..when he could lift the car in order to change the tire.
Now I doubt if 1% of drivers even know how to change a tire.

Kent, when I was in college in 1970 I worked at an Atlantic gas station in North Miami. We had a gas war with the Zayres gas station across the street and sold gas for 19 cents per gallon!
Re. Those were the days: No radial tires, no seat belts, no fuel injection no air conditioning, am radio only, and worst of all, no mid year Corvettes!
