1966 Day-Night Mirror Question

My 1966 Judging Guide apparently has a misprint in the section describing the two interior rear view mirrors. The descriptions of the standard and day-night mirrors appear to have had at least one or two lines omitted. Consequently, I am having a problem identifying a mirror which the owner tells me is correct for my car. The mirror is stainless, 8 inches long, lever on bottom, by Guide. The owner tells me it is the correct day-night mirror for 1966 Corvettes, Chevelles, and Chevy II.

Can anyone tell me if these vehicles shared the same mirror?

Hi Mike ~

You have the correct mirror provided it has a black twist knob on the bottom. And it can be found on other vehicles such as the Chevy II. I'm not certain about the Chevelles, most of those where 10"...

Mike - I have an original 66 with the day-night mirror. The mirror is 8 inches long and the knob at the bottom is a rectangle about 1/2 inch long as well as projects downward also about 1/2 inch. I understand the mirror was available on other GM cars.

Mike - Chevelles and BIG cars used the longer mirror (10"). I think Corvairs also used the shorter (8") day/night mirror. Pete
