Where do I need to look to find the hood cable release plugs to manually open the hood?

First, we look up your profile to get an idea as to WHAT year car we're talking about (a '73 'eh?)...

Open hood, and look in the cowl area (where the wiper arm drives live). On earlier Shark cars, you'd have to remove the wiper door grille to get there...

Terry,,,, Im thinking you may have to jack your Vette up and take off a dust shield on the drivers side and reach up in there by the hood latch somehow. If you remember the latch at all it has what I would call a trip lever that you should try to move enough to unlatch your hood. Am I right, guys???........Bill S

Bil, that is correct on a mid year but this is a 73. The latch is unaccessable-but we don't know if he is referring to the cable you pull from inside the car or the hood crossover cable.

Some of the corvette vendors sell a tool to go through the hole Jack refers to in the post above to unlatch a hood with a broken cable. If you do not have power brakes or you find a way from the bottom around the booster you may find a way to relase the hood it can be done.
