    66 Speedometer Cable Routing

    Happy Saturday,

When I disassembled my 66 convertible two years ago, I didn't pay enough attention to how the speedometer cable was routed through the firewall and under car.

The AIM shows a separate routing from the tach cable, but I think this applies to automatics and three speeds in 66. Mine is a four speed.

Question: Did the speedo and tach cable get routed through the same 2 hole grommet for 4 speed cars in 66?

    Mark -

Yes, they both use the same hole - the 4-speed speedo cable routing is shown in the M20 section, Sheet A4, with the tach cable also referenced in the illustration. The speedo cable routing shown in UPC 12 is for the "base car" (3-speed manual), which had the speedo connection on the driver's side.
