since Chevy has seen fit to discontinue the early exhaust manifold gasket kit, which actually fit the outer and especially inner edge of the 265 cylinder head, is there any other source of gaskets which even come close? I have some pitting which makes me leery of using no gasket. It would be best, then, to use something which actually fits, instead of the common over-the-counter gaskets which are labeled to cover "55-95 265-283-327-350-307-400 cid". That's a pretty wide target that requires a large opening, which means very little seal surface is avaialble on the gasket.

Go see your Ford dealer. Rotunda has a service two part epoxy that was used to seal porous automatic transmission castings.
Clean the head/manifold surface. Apply a light coat of epoxy and bolt the manifolds on. Let it sit overnight and drive off the next day.
Done it many times but I won't tell you where or when.- Top
