Question is, should there be a washer under the nut between it and the hub? Non tilt-tele column. I have many books on this car and nothing is definitive regarding this issue. Does this look like an original piece. Bare with me while I try to post the pictures of this washer with the step in it. There is 2 shots of each side. Which direction is correct? If its not an original piece of hardware and there should be one present, I'm assuming a general grade 5 or 8 washer will do?

That doesn't look right for the one that holds the hub down. The originals were simply a plate washer, extra thick. That washer might belong somewhere else but off the top of my head, I don't recognize it. I have a nice column and I am temped to take it apart to see if I find it in there. Terry
