My 67 vette driver side visor does not want to stay up. I tried to tighten the screws and i cannot tighten, as the whole thing turns and i cannot hold that wierd looking nut on the back. It seems to be turned as far as it can go anyway. Does anyone have a simple solution to hold that in place while i take it apart? Also what do i need to do to fix this problem? Hopefully someone understands my question on this... Thanks

Re: C2 Sun visor
Dave,
You need a flat blade screwdriver with a little notch or split in the center to hold the weird looking nut on the back. You can also use a tack puller, or one of those mini speed bars for pulling small nails or tacks to hold the nut in place while you tighten the screw.
If the screws and nuts are rusted up, you can get a replacement kit for that special screw and nut from the usual Corvette vendors. They break off very easy, so use some WD40 on them before you try to turn the nut.

Randy,
Not too sure about that, as I only have my original 67 ones. They are different between a convertible and a couple. Maybe someone else will chime in on this.

Re: C2 Sun visor
Using a flat blade screw driver, file or grind a slot in the center to clear the screw end. Now you have a tool to tighten your visors and your buddies too......
If you can't tighten this up then install some thin shim stock around the shaft and tighten on that- Top

Re: C2 Sun visor
Dave - Take a rag and wrap around the vinyl where the rotating shaft goes into the visor. Take pair of pliers and pinch the shaft not too hard however enough to crimp the metal liner on the inside. Your visor will stay any where you put it after that. You can tighten the screws as tight as you want and it will always come down. I had to do both of mine on my 66 and they work perfect. Hope this helps.- Top
