    '67 Fuel sending unit

It looks like I have to replace my original fuel sending unit. I see Paragon has an O.E. unit for $220 and an imported one for $70. Any suggestions out there?

    Thanks!

    Tony, Get the O.E.

the imported ones are a piece of crap. Take a look at this thread:

      Re: Tony, Get the O.E.

      Thanks Jerry!

I started my engine for the first time today. Engine sounded GREAT! I stood behind the car and listened to the exhaust. The engine sounds like it's got the right "attitude". I love it! This is what my restoration is all about.

Thanks for your advice. I'll get the O.E. version.

        Re: '67 Fuel sending unit

        Tony,
I happened to find/buy an NOS fuel sending unit for my 67 on Ebay last year and paid approx $125.00 (sorry, old timers) and installed this past winter and so far it has worked perfectly. I have read that the cheap foreign units are junk. Are the OEM units better quality and are they made in Mexico? I have heard that many of the Mexican products are not of the best quality? If you are not in a big hurry to replace the unit, I would suggest keeping an eye out for an NOS unit, Carlisle if you are going, or Ebay. Good luck on whatever route you take!!

Glad to hear you are almost on the road.

Was going to start my parking brake project this weekend. But it was 104 all weekend, and 106 today (in Sonora, CA). Started the swamp coolers in my rickety garage, early in the morning. And I got it down to 88 damp in the garage by midday.

So in a Brooklyn accent, I said "screw it" and took a drive in my 67 just to cool off. Spent the rest of the day working on the swamp coolers.

I know the guys in Texas and New Mexico are probably used to this, but this is unusual in N.Cal. But perfect weather if you were going to redo your seats.

          Having fun,
