I have tried to email also but didn't get any response either in entering my 69 Corvette Conv. 427/390 with build sheet.

      ie...the problem with registrys

A few weeks ago the question was raised on this board why more owners do not sign up for the electronic registries available for generation and/or by model year. Well...here's one example why.

I've always felt the 70's registry was among the premier registries as far as registries go but when you are unable to make contact...it causes some dissonance. Here's one of the better registries and not being able to communicate is cause for concern. Perhaps its only a server that's down but registries ought to have a backup plan to communicate with its registrants to inform that they are ok...just some technical difficulties. That would alleviate the anxiety that "pops up" when unable to correspond.

Interesting how electronic correspondence has caused us to take communication a bit more seriously than pre-internet.

        Did you

try to contact her through the link on the profiles page of this board? I don't know if that will work any better, but it may be worth a shot.

registry only as good as the data - GIGO

I own a 1970 LS5 AC convert that I bought from Pro Team about 6 or 7 years ago. Several years AFTER I bought it, Pro Team inserted it into this registry (no, they DIDN'T bother to ask me if I wanted it there!). In addition, a fair amount of the data about my car is WRONG! For instance, they say it was a M21 car -Duh! AC cars ONLY came with a M20 (and the original trans has the "A" code to boot!

Does that mean someday somebody is going to think my car is a FAKE AC car because it was in a registry xxx years ago with an M21? Or better yet, what gives Pro Team the right to give out data that the owner of the car may want private?

Makes me wonder if I really want to buy any more cars from them!

                Re: ie...the problem with registrys

Good point, Tom- For the '59 Registry, I actually send a monthly broadcast email to all members to keep them in the loop of any updates or outages. And in the event of an unexpected problem, I can do an adhoc mail if needed.

I always read the feedback here provided by everyone, and when applicable try to implement it into my Registry. So please keep the feedback coming, good OR bad!

                Best Regards,

                Jim Brady III

Juliet had a post over in the CorvetteForum a couple weeks ago about the 70 Registry. Her email address was given there.

PS I am building a registry for 73's if anyone wishes to contribute their car's info I gladly take it. I have about 1230, or 4%, cars listed.
