Have not wanted to ask this question, however looking around I must, sorry.
The "Warning" tag that is sewn on the left lower corner of the soft top into the binding was missing on my top. No big deal, just buy a repo! Now exactly where to place it and how to attach it? Well not ready to do that stuff yet so I'll wait.
However was looking at a friends 64 (late build without raised door handle area) and notice he did not have tag either. Neither of our cars have any sign of a tag being sewn into the top. (Note, have found other non NCRS items on his and mine in common, but no discussion on that)
Still not ready to ask the question untill I looked at the original 1964 Owners Guide (pg 25,29) and the Corvette News Supplement Jan 14-18, 1963 (pg 18,19) where these pictures all show tops without the TAG.
Been looking for some older pictures of 64, however unable to find many of the soft top. Any pictures newer than 64 I believe in general must be viewed as suspect and not accepted as factural.
OK, now for the question - when was the tag first seen, about!
Alan
