87 oil pressure sending unit location

I'm attempting to locate the oil pressure sending unit for an 87.

I found a unit down by the oil filter but don't know if this is it. This car also has the ability to switch over to "oil temp" so I'm wondering if this is the temp sending unit.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Chuck

Re: 87 oil pressure sending unit location

    Chuck,

1985 Shop Manual lists the following locations:

Oil Pressure Sender-------top rear of engine
Oil Temperature Sender----lower LH rear of engine, above oil filter

    Hope that helps.

    Joe

      Add On

For 1985, the pressure sender has a tan wire, and the oil temp uses a dark green/white wire. Not sure if this is also true for 1987, but possibly so.

        Re: Thanks Joe

That's what I figured, but he doesn't have a book yet.

        Thanks a ton Joe,

        Chuck
