I installed polyurethane motor mounts on my '68 big block several years ago. The left side motor mount needs to be replaced and in my research I noticed that possibly my car should have had a left side motor mount heat shield. Was there a shield on all '68 motor mounts or was it only for big blocks with A/C. My car does NOT have A/C and Paragon and Zip only list motor mount heat shields for big blocks with A/C. If I originally had a motor mount heat shield it is now missing. What I would like to do is install a new polyurethane motor mount and also use the motor mount heat shield to protect it from the exhaust manifold heat but I want to determine if I can make it fit before purchasing. Thanks.

My 68 BB does not appear to have had a heat shield for the motor mounts?

Only BB w/AC
But if it can shield the motor mount from heat why not use it. If you have poly mounts originality is not your main concern, so go with it.TerryComment
