    Re: C2 Corvette Parts Suppliers

I agree with John and the others.

    LICS is great.

    1. fill out order form using one of the best catalogs.
    2. FAX order
    3. A few days later EVERYTHING ordered shows up at my door.

    WHAT is to talk about?

I agree... I called about a part that was out of stock at Paragon last week. Then called Long Island. The order guy said he had the part. I then repeated the part number again to verify he heard me correctly. He very abrasively/rudely exclaimed "didn't you hear me ...I said I had it." Well, I terminated the call without ordering the part and will wait for it to come in elsewhere. I was shocked at being treated like that. I have ordered there several times before by FAX and this was my first bad experience.

My problem is not with their lack of social skills.

          That,s Richard,

Other than dealing with him, i use another salesman, Long Island is a great supplier (with most parts in stock), for 63-67 parts. Have had excellent products purchased from them in the past.

          Regards to all fellow members,

Parts questions, pertaining to correct items and availability,(sounds like a phone call to me). Faxs don't get it all the time.

John, Richard Cohen has always answered my '63 questions with no problem. He is quite a knowledgeable man and what he has done for the mid year restorations is beyond description. It's not easy answering the phone all day long with all the questions thrown at you. I manage to treat my customers as I would want to be treated but lately with the sudden interest in Corvettes and fuel cars it is quite difficult. John D.

I have Bought 90% of My restoration parts from lics - They are the most knowledgeable in the business and have almost every midyear part in stock.
i have spoken to rich many times and he has always helped me.

Pete, Zip Products are good people to deal with also. They treat me fine. I also use a local dealer, Corvette World at 724-837-8600. Although they are under new ownership John is still with CW. Been dealing with that company since they started. Great service and usually have 95 plus % of parts requested. Very courteous and fast service. No complains. Nice catalog that's well organized. Members of the Pittsburgh Tri-State chapte. WE meet a few miles from their showroom in Irwin, PA on Rt.30 John D.

No one has mentioned Volunteer Vettes in Knoxville, TN. I have bought alot of parts from them. Great service and quick delivery, I call in the morning and have it the next day.

ZIP provides good service and they are helpful to talk with.

I used to do allot of business with LICS, but I have switched to Paragon mostly due to their discount and online ordering capability. I also experienced the rudeness from LIC, but put up with it since they always had everything in stock. But, in my experience, Paragon seldom back-orders either. One thing about LIC, is that they pay no attention to what you are ordering and what car it might fit even though on the form you have to enter the year of the car. They will ship you exactly what you put on the form even if it doesn't match the year. Paragon on the other hand seems to care more about the customer. Twice I have placed an order with Paragon and they called me on the phone on their own initiative just to make sure a part I included is what I want. If you call them and ask them to go pull a part and describe some particular detail to you, or even take measurements, they will do it and not complain.

I will say however that LIC has a great and easy return policy. Just return the part with a copy of receipt within 30 days - no need to call them in advance.
