53 Vette on Maui?

Continuing with the "Look what I found on my vacation theme..."

Peggy Sue's is a 50's burger joint in Kihei, Maui. There is a large bulletin board in the restaurant, where people post pictures of classic cars. A fair number of the cars are C1's and C2's, most of which had been rodded out.

But I found a picture of a 53-55 with Hawaiian plates (CMS 53). Based on the plate info, somebody must have a 53 Covette on Maui. Maybe I will go door to door looking for the car if I ever make it back to Maui.

The food at Peggy Sue's is just so-so by the way. The shakes, bulletin board and jukebox make are great however.

There is a car club on Maui that gets together and several nice Corvettes including a cascade green 57.

There are also some very interesting cars over on Molokai ( off the beaten path ).The White 57 airbox car that was sold at BJ this past January was sold at Aloha motors in Honolulu.
