C1 VIN tag change?

Hi all,

Sometime over 1959-60, the VIN tags went from being stamped to having raised letters. Does anyone know when that changeover took place? Was it when the tags went from the door jamb to the steering column?

Early 1960 VIN tags are embossed (raised letters) and use the smaller font size that was used on the tags attached to the steering column later in the 1960 model year. The early 1960 VIN tags are aluminum, like the 1959 tags. Tag was changed to stainless steel when factory started attaching them to the steering column. Don't know for sure when the VIN tag change occurred, but serial number 890 has an aluminum tag embossed with the VIN, and mounted in the door jam area.
