Should battery hold down cover on 61 base engine car, have notche's on top
for cable clearance? CORVETTE CENTRAL checked their original and said it is
correct. My friend, AKA master judge , said NO .Any input from someone with
ORIGINAL cover.would be greatly appreciated. ; Tim Burditt
Tim, the most current Judges Guide on page 68 states "Original heat shield does not contain either a top relief for cable clearance or a clip attachment hole, as used with later model shields." Haven't seen any repos without the cutouts. You can have them welded or brazed in and the seams ground down smooth. Hope this helps. Gary....

I was curious to see if any original covers had notches?
If not than I will start welding on this (100% original) cover,that
corvette central sold me.They said is correct, and my ncrs master judge friend must mistaken!
