I've got a 66 small block roadster with no air, and need to replace the engine compartment wiring harness. I'm pretty handy and it doesn't look that difficult, but I'd like to get some instructions on how to do. I looked in my 66 service manual, and unless I missed it, only saw a wiring diagram. I also have a hard copy of the restorer "Article Index",but that only references rewiring a 1958-62 vette. I tried to use the article search on the web, but couldn't get it to work. Does anyone know where I can get some detailed instructions, or should I just wing it. Thanks.

Re: 66 Wiring Harness Replace
It's really pretty straightforeword, just start at the farthest point away from the junction at the Dash and work back toward it, one item at a time. I believe the Service manual gives you the wire colors to keep you straight, just look at each connection carefully, most have a small latch that will need to be released to disassemble the old connection. Good Luck!- Top

Re: 66 Wiring Harness Replace
Frank,
As Bill mentioned it is all pretty straight-forward. I think it would be a good idea for you to have the 66 Assembly Instruction Manual as well. I've used the AIM whenever disassembling and re-assembling most any system on the car. You'll find the details and drawings for all the wiring harnesses there. TBarr #24014- Top
