Hello again, I have a question about the proper mounting of the rear spring. I had to replace my right trailing arm and with it came a pressed-in spring bushing retainer. The assembly manual does not show this retainer in the diagram. The kit I purchased also does not provide for this additional retainer. My left side is original and does not have it either?? I have peened the retainers on the spring but don't know if I should put one in the original trailing arm or remove the one which came with the new?? I hope this makes some sense to someone! Thanks for listening!! David

Re: 71 rear spring mount question!
David-----
It makes perfect sense to me. ALL 63-82 Corvette trailing arms had the spring cushion retainer mounted in the lower hole in the rear of the arm. This retainer is exactly the same one used in the spring lower leaf ends and is GM #3910701. SERVICE replacement trailing arms MAY not have had the retainer pre-installed, though. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
