This was my first ever NCRS National meet and I came away very impressed with the attendance and of the NCRS family. Tremendously friendly and helpful people. I did not enter my Corvette nor did I even drive it to San Antonio as the weather was too hot for having no A/C for an eight hour round trip.
The host city was a perfect place for it this time of the year because of the many choices of things to do in and around San Antonio. The Riverwalk, which was also partially beneath the convention center, provided some relief from the heat each evening. There are several places to eat and drink along the Riverwalk and large tour boats ferried tourist passengers along the waterways. Lush ferns, trees, and beautiful plants inhabited small islands and lined each side of the Riverwalk.
Approximately 35 of us NCRS members went to dinner on one night at the Texas Land and Cattle Steak House on the Riverwalk.
I took over 130 digital photos of the Corvette event including many while the judges were inspecting and grading the Corvettes. The actual Mako Sharks I and II and the Bill Mitchell '59 Stingray race car was the icing on the cake.
