When the National Convention was in Montery California, the Northeast National Road Tour meet up with several from the central states and did the road tour throught the Route 66 route. If you have your older copy of the Restorer Magazine I and others wrote articles on this trip. It was a blast. Most of the trip was mapped and planned by Joe Ramano and Elaine Renner. As Rick Alshire indicated a lot of folks that missed the Montery trip would like it done again to have a chance to go. Now with the National convention coming up in San Jose, it might be a good time to plan this and you may want to contact the National Road Tour manager, Ron Ramsey. Not speaking for Jim or Elaine, but I would think they would enjoy the trip as well as most of the normal National Road Tour members. I should be retired by then and have plenty of time to go out and back.

Joe, I have been lobbying my wife regarding this very trip. She so far declines to ride the distance in 'babyblue', 1966 327/350 convertible because it's too loud and too hot. Rich

My wife and I are planning to do a part of 66 this October in our SUV - but I'd like to do a portion of it - maybe the western portion except for LA in our 67 coupe. Don't think we could handle the whole 2400 miles with those side pipes!!

Maybe there's a portion of the old road that would be interesting and easy to drive in these old(er) cars.
