    Component Life Expectancy

Just ran across a March, 1970 Road and Track. The article is about a Corvette owner survey they did.
    Interesting responses from Corvette owners:(IMHO)

    Shocks 28,900

    Mufflers (standard exhaust) 29,000

    Re: Component Life Expectancy

Mike, amazing how things have changed. I changed my plauss on my truck at 120,000, and they still looked good! Any tire would give you at least 30,000 miles today. When people talk about the good ole days, they forget how much we had to work on these old cars to keep them running.
