    EX 122 car

Just curious..does the car today..have an EX 122 or 53 VIN #002 Vin Plate?

According to the Amgwert article..the #002 car was sold to Russ Sanders.

I wonder if he titled it..and if so what shows on the title.

          EX 122

I find the 1959 letter written to Jack Ingle very intersting..as it makes no reference to the car being a production car let alone VIN # 002. In fact..Russ Sanders who purchased EX 122 from GM..says he had a hard time registering the car because of the EX 122 experimental designation.

By the time Russ purchased the car, it "wasn't" VIN #002 anymore. Even GM realized this. It was a vehicle used for testing and evaluation purposes that had gone through various configurations.

If you've ever driven by some of the engineering and testing facilities of the Big 3, you'd see carcasses of similar evaluation vehicles today that are not anything like the production vehicle they may have started out when they left the plant. I drove by the F*rd one 2 weeks ago and saw some. EX-122 just happened to be rescued and "reborn."

As has been said by others, I think that EX-122 would be more valuable to us as the first Corvette V-8, born of VIN #002, than as a copy of the Waldorf car.

Re: The Waldorf car was EX-52. EX122

I bought my 54 from a farmer in Fairfield Iowa in the 80s . He had 2 54s and 53 # 31. The 53 had a late 54 or 55 matched mold body. The owner died a few years ago & the cars were sold. Who has this one now ? any history?...Bill
