C3 1970 correct timing chain cover?

I need a new timing chain cover for my 1970 L-46 (350hp) 350. All of the big suppliers list a 350hp cover, but only through 1969. They couldn't tell me if it would fit my 1970. The cover on it now had the tack welded timing mark indicator, but is missing and has the bolt-on kind instead.

The only other cover they sell is a '68-82 type with the bolt on indicator.

My question is: will the 66-69 350hp cover work on my 1970?

    Thank you - Mark

    Mark------

A 66-68 cover will not work (actually, the cover will fit just fine, but the timing tab will be in the wrong position).

A 1969 or later cover will work just fine; it's identical to the 1970 cover. However, you'll need to find one that came off of a 69-70 300 hp/350, 69-70 L-46, 1971 270 hp, 70-72 LT-1, or 73-81 L-82 (one with welded-on timing tab and "3 spoke" center only to be correct, though). These are the only engines that used an 8" balancer. A timing cover with welded-on pointer for a 6" balancer will not work for your L-46.
