Carlisle; When to go for parts

Question. When is the best time to go for the swap meet? I saw someone else asked a similar question and someone told them that Thursday morning is good. I haven't gone in a while, but I thought things didn't start until Friday. When should I go if I want to see the most parts? Grossmueller's said they won't be there and set up until Friday morning. Will anyone else be there Thurdsay???

    Thanks,
    -Isaac Tyson

Isaac, I've been a spectator and a vendor at Corvette Carlisle since it started in early 80's. If you are looking for hard to find parts for your car get to the flea market on Thurs. and wait for the gate to open which is about 6:30 for spectators. Lance Miller I am sure will see this post and correct me as he is aone of the principle owners of Carlisle Events. See Lance's post on similar question a couple of days ago. It's so large you can't cover the grounds in one day. So arrive early on Thurs and be prepared to walk your butt off. 1st class event all the way. By Friday all the rare stuff is pretty much picked over by Mikey and other vultures. Oops!If you have any problems come to see me in the L90's and I will help set you straight. If you need to cool off my trailer will have about 6 fans running. Free water for the asking. Cheep booze extra. Employess everywhere though to assist you. Food court one of the best in country. Great restrooms, paved roads, bring lots of cash. John

        John,
Thanks for the great info and tips. I haven't been to the show since I was about 12, and was with my father. I guess I'm not really looking for rare parts, but lots of c-1 stuff to fill the garage with. Steering wheels and radios are always nice along with manifolds. They seem to hang the nicest on the garage wall...
Speaking of cash... Do many vendors take credit cards, or is most everything cash?

Sounds like I better show up Thursday and friday.

        Thanks again!

Isaac, Commercial vendor take cc's. But you can also go to the office or grandstand and get cash advances with you card. Grab a free program at the gate and this is all spelled out. For the average vendor green stuff only. John
