Re: '67 BB fan Clutch Thanks!!!

Thanks Guys for all the info on the fan clutch. The fan clutch is exactly like the center picture posted by Steve (front & back, shaft length etc.), except no gold color is present on the face and no "CK "stamp, just the F 24 G (or 6) and the red line of ink. The car has only 36,108 original miles on it and the original owner doesn't remember ever replacing the clutch. With the above being said, would it appear as though this clutch is correct and probably original to the cars Sept. '66 build date? I really hate to change any original or correct part to comply with the JM. I am planning to have the car judged within the next year.
    Thanks Again,
    DM

Since you confirm the reservoirs on the front face are 'square' vs. trapezoidal (like Steve's middle picture), you can rest assured it's real McCoy item from the era! The move from square to trapezoidal was a running change that dates the original construction.

As far as the gold tone and ink stamps go, the fan clutch face sat dead center in the air flow through the radiator. It doesn't take much in the way of wind abrasion to 'sand' away the factory original ink stamp ID as well as eat into the surface plating of the fan clutch's face plate. In fact, I don't remember there being a gold dichromate wash (gold tone) over the cad finish on the face plates of early fan clutches...
