recently installed correct rear view mirror on '69 coupe...had after market mirror glued to windshield.. can't get the metal mounting pad off the windshield..had numerous suggestions but most involved fire and extreme heat..don't want to break windshield...is there a solvent that will do the trick?
Most of the 'stick-on' mirrors have a rubber backed mounting pad that's affixed to the windshield glass using cyanoacrylite ('superglue'). Visit any local glass shop that installs auto windshields and they have a release agent that works fast/clean...
