    C2 Gas Pedal Spacer Question

    I am replacing carpet this week in a 67 convertible and discovered that the gas pedal spacer under the original carpet is missing (apparantly cut out of original carpet when previous owner layed new carpet on top of original. Would someone help me out and give me the rough dimensions of the spacer and what material it was made with to allow me to fabricate a subsititute spacer???

    You can purchase one from any of the CORVETTE vendors. Its just a piece of hardboard.

      Steve, thanks for the quick response. I am aware of availabilty of the part at suppliers, I am just trying to avoid the week of delay to get this simple part and fab it myself. Do you know the rough dimemsions, the dimension of most concern is the thickness.

        Its about 3/8" thick. It is about the size of the accelerator part that attaches to the floor 1.25"x2.25"..... The "holes" are really cutouts... look in a catalog for a photo

          Thank you, this will allow me to get the carpet completed today. After too many months and too many thousands of $'s I expect to have this one back on the road in top flight form this month.

            Measurements taken from a NOS part;
            t= 0.22, w= 1.12, l= 2.40, and slot w= 0.377 l= 0.50

              Thanks Alan for the detailed info, it saved me a week of delay. I fab'ed a nylon part today and everything seemed to fit properly which allowed me to finish the carpet installation. Now only seats and soft top to go to complete the job.
