    Fastener finish question

    What would be the correct finish for the castel nut, lock washer and cotter pin that the arrow is pointing too?

      What year? For '67, Cad clear or zinc. The cad is more durable than zinc if you are going to plate them.

              The slotted nut was zinc plated and it was of GM material grade 286M (SAE grade 5). The cotter pin was plain. There should be NO lockwasher used in conjunction with this. Lockwashers are never used in conjunction with a slotted nut.

                  Thanks Joe...not sure why I thought there should be a lock washer so thanks for correcting me on that!
