    Chevy Bowtie Hubcaps

    Anybody recognize these hubcaps?

I know they are not Corvette. Found them in the garage being used as containers for rusty nails. So I cleaned them up but they won't fit on my Ralley's.

Seems that the former owner of my garage was a mechanic in the 40' and 50's, could these be that old?

    Jerry-----

I'd say that they're definitely from the 40's Chevrolet passenger car era. Probably late 40's.

Doc, you are probably the only one on here old enough to remember the caps. Unless maybe the "Dipstick"

              Jerry,

I searched Collector Car Trader from 1949 back to wire wheeled Chevys and found nothing the same. Of course with most of those cars being hot rodded, you may have to contact AACA. Could be they were caps for a deluxe model.

Jerry, fillingstation.com, a vintage Chevy reproduction parts vendor, lists them as '35 and '36 car and truck. Regards, Jim Weeks - Member #2978

Bingo, 1935-36 Chevy Pass or 1/2 ton P/U

Thanks for the lead Jim. I looked them up.

Come to think of it, there was a 1930's pickup in this garage(which I bought from the estate of an older couple who lived across the street from me about 15 years ago.)

The pickup went to a collector, but I got the garage. Makes a neat Corvette garage although a little cramped. Really neat because of the wood plank floor and standup room under for almost half the car; I have the planks cut down the center for access under the car.

Story goes that the pickup was named "Lizzie" by the older couple after the horse that it had replaced.
