    C2 Accelerator Rod Ground Wire-Purpose?

My 1967 does not have this ground wire. What is its purpose?

    Paul,

That's one of the radio ground straps. If your car did not have the AM/FM radio installed, then it would not have the ground straps.

Thanks Don. I have a four-channel (50W x 4) KHE-200 with IPod installed and it works very well. So perhaps that strap is not necessary for my purposes.

Don't remove ground straps they play an important part in the correct grounding of the car.

            Gary,
I can see the original but here it is again.

              Kevin,
I understand what you are saying. I will see if friends can find me one at Carlisle. They seem to be sold in sets in catalogues and to get a set into Canada will cost me about $70.00 (handling, shipping, brokerage, etc.) for what is essentially a $3.00 item. Alternatively if anyone has a spare strap that could be sent to me by air mail I would very much appreciate that and of course cover the costs. E-mail me on that subject.

I found a ground strap almost exactly like that in the "Help" section of a local auto parts store. Even the eye connectors are the right size. It is too long but I will cut it back to suit. A nice $5.00 solution.

Not "correct" but it will do the trick.

The rest of what you are seeing there is my mods to adapt an L-79 aluminum intake to a 327/300 engine. So things may look a little "off."
