When removing the speedometer cable at the 4 speed transmission, in which direction should I manually spin the cable to make the speed indicator pointer move in the speedometer; clockwise or counterclockwise?
I did not want to use trial and error for fear I may damage the spring in the speedometer if I turn it in the wrong direction.
Thank you,
Kurt
Thanks Dick.
I have a sticking problem at the lower speeds but then it runs fine once the speed increases. I was going to try to hook it up to an electric drill to see if I could clear up the sticking problem as the car has been sitting for 10 years. It worked fine before I put it in storage so I am thinking it might be some corrosion that I can work loose by running it at various speeds with a drill.
The odometer registers OK but the speed stays at 0 until you get past 30 or 40 then it works fine.
Thanks again,
Kurt
