Best Vendor for Brake Parts, 70 Coupe

I'm ready to move forward with repairing a leaking caliper on my 70.

It has 73 and up calipers (stainless sleeved) on it now as verified during a prior posting. I am seriously thinking about buying the new Delco calipers which come with the stainless sleeves and micron pistons.

Does anyone have experience using theses calipers and which vendor is the best to deal with?

I also plan to replace all the brake hoses and the brake fluid. Dot 4 has been recommended to me in a prior posting.

    Thanks, Dennis

Dennis..... I recently did my calipers and master cylinder on my 72 w/PB. For the calipers I went with Duntov Motor/ Fast Vette www.fastcorvette.com (They opened FastVette as a sub company of the Duntov Racing Team,,,, Duntov was a part of them before his passing and they are under license to continue with his name,,,, all info on this at their website)

I used them for the calipers as they: 1. Don't have a core charge. 2. Were willing to rebuild my calipers to preserve the originality and correct numbers. 3. I had them NOT change the exterior to preserve the finish as it is, but replaced the seals & sleve. 4. Had one of the better turn around times 5. Were very competively priced. System is in and works great. Also, be sure to ck out their article on using the correct brake fluid.

For the master cylinder, went with White Horse restorations as a result of several recommendations at this site. They were a little more expensive, but had less than a 5 day turnaround, and most important for me also did a "survivor" rebuild and did not mess with the existing exterior finish. It too is great. I didn't want to chance any brake fluid on my original paint job, so did the mstr cyl bleeding on the car, and its the firmest braking I've had since it was new.

Hope this helps..... I highly recommend you do all calipers... if one is leaking, the others are far behind!!

      Norm,

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I will check it out and yes I agree with replacing all the calipers.

        Master Cylinder resleeving

Norm ---- No offense intended, however, I believe it is White Post Restorations instead of White Horse.

Norm, very interesting site. Really making me rethink my approach. What brake fluid did you use? Thanks again. Dennis

I'd recommend staying away from FastCorvette.com - they are in financial trouble, and there have been hundreds of posts on other forums in the last year describing all manner of horror stories about lost parts, parts not shipped after charging credit cards, getting other people's parts back, no parts back, shoddy work, etc.

Also, Zora never had ANY connection of any kind with the "Duntov Motor Company"; they got permission from Elfi to use the name two years ago.
