I have had continus problems with my front brakes wanting to pull to the right and after a period of warm up they may pull to the left or right or hold a steady straight stop. The shoes, springs, and metal lines are new, the wheel cylinders have been rebuilt and the MC rebuilt and sleeved. I don't think I replaced the flexible rubber lines. Could the rubber lines be causing this problem by collapsing or something else? The brakes were adjusted in accordance with the corvette manual. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jimmy

Re: C1 (1959) Front Brakes
Jimmy
I just bought a 61 about 2 months ago. The PO described the same type of problem that he had with this car until someone finally decided to replace the brake drums for him which solved the problem. I still have an overheating problem so I haven't driven it more than about 20 miles at a time, but the brakes seem to be working fine. That's my 2 cents!

Definitely new brake hoses are needed.
If it still happens after replacing the hoses, check the drums for allowable wear and roundness.
What type of fluid are you using?
Stainless lines? double check for leaks, may have to tighten them up to just about too tight.- Top
