C-3, 1969 upper dash pad

Being a '70 owner I noticed that '68 and '69 upper dash pads don't have speaker holes, just the defroster grille. Where were the speakers mounted if not in the dash?

are the kick panels the same on a 68-69 as a 71?

The 1969 and 1971 kick panels were the same. Both had the "grilles" for the speaker, although no speakers were behind the 71 panels.

The 1968 E-69 panel was slightly different than later. However, I've forgotten what the difference was.
