    Big Block oil pans

Did all big block oil pans have the trap door as well as the baffle mounted to the main studs?

The discoloration in the picture is from a brazing job somebody did earlier in the cars life to fix a small hole.

    Tom------

All 1965-74 CORVETTE oil pans had the "trap door" internal baffle. All were also originally used in conjunction with an external, stud-mounted windage tray. The design of the internal baffling and the windage tray changed somewhat in 1970 to accomodate the longer stroke 454 cid engine. However, the 1970-74 pan and windage tray configuration will work fine for any 65-69. Installed on the engine, there's virtually no way to tell them apart.
