    Top Flight Judging

    Two questions:
If you have a non factory AC vehicle with an after market AC unit Top Flight Judged what is the point deduction if any ?
If the vehicle had factory AC and you installed an after market AC unit do you only loose originality points ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Ray,

In either case, you will lose condition points to the extent that damage has been done to the original configuration, had the option not been installed. For example, imagine that the option has been "magically" removed. The damage done to the dashboard, and any missing pulleys/belts would be fully deducted.

      Ray,

I have a Vintage Air system on my non-air 67 with aluminum pulleys. I was surprised at Flight Judging that the deduct wasn't that much. When I Top Flighted, I think it was about 21 points between the heater box and pulleys, and also for the radio side panels in the interior.

However, I think if you had an original AC car with aftermarket AC, I think that you would lose more, as they would go down the list of AC items rather than ignore them as add-on AC.

Either way you have judges with a real hard job. Every time it is judged the points off will vary alot as this is not seen often.
