I have read a descritpion in the 67 JG for where to ground the plug wires on big blocks with radios. I have also seen many cars with many different combinations on valve cover bolts used for this purpose. Does someone wish to chime in with the definitive location that is correct. The previous owner of my 67 L36 grounded each wire to its own valve comver bolt instead of doubling up. thanks.

I know the AIM for 68 shows them doubled up, not one on each.

Re: Valve cover grounding of plug wires on big blo
Rob,
------I have seen many untouched 67 big-blocks and every one had the doubled up plug-wires. Mike Hanson or Dave Burroughs will tell you that at the point the plug wires were installed in St.Louis, four (4) valve-cover bolts were removed and replaced by slightly longer bolts to facilitate the extra height once the two grounded ends on the plug wires were under those bolts. Because this was long after the engine was painted in Tonawanda these four bolts (2 to a side) are not chevy orange. These four bolts have always had different head markings than the other ten (10) on the cars I have seen, but I suppose its possible that the head markings could be the same. Ill let someone else give you the skinny on what head-markings would be considered correct in both instances. Of course, as you say this all balances on the existence of a radio being installed at the factory on that particular Corvette. Hope this helps.........Bill S- Top

Ground the wires under valve cover bolts near cylinders 3 & 7 and 2 & 6... UNLESS you have a C60 car, then use 2 & 4 & 6 per AIM sht U69 A9- Top
