Cast iron, date is in question, '55 -'57 possibly. It was on a '55 265 that more than likey came out of a passenger car. The stamp pad on the block is really pitted and I can't read any of the stamping. I assume it is a '55, but???

'57 parts book indicates '55-57 Chev Pass with powerglide, also lists '55 corvette, but I don't believe pass and corvette used the same part.

55 vette powerglide shifter mounted on the floorpan, unlike the 56 up vette 3 speed shifters and pg shifters that mounted on three bosses on the tailhousing. mike
