    Original From 1970 LT-1 W/Number

This, supposedly, is an original from a 1970 LT1. Has the 3829387 part number and code stamped.

Now you're going to make me go down to the garage and check mine (1970 LT1), but I don't recall either a number or broadcast code stamped in mine.

Mike your "supposedly" qualifier leads me to suspect that this is not a photo you took. With respect, I think that it is also not on a stock 1970 LT1. One can see a black mounting bracket in the lower left -- looks to be cast. I believe 1970 LT1 used a stamped lower brace that was installed at Flint and painted orange -- at least those without power steering were that way. I have to qualify that a little bit because I am unsure about the power steering 1970 LT1s, but I think they still used the stamped lower brace.

I looked at my 1970 LT1 -- no PS -- and there is no stamp on the alternator pulley. Alternator information: 1100884 61A 9L14. I can send a photo, if you want, but I haven't got so computer savvy as to be able to post a picture here.

Thanks Terry. Yes, the photo was not one that I had but one that was sent. That's why I used the word "supposedly". I agree, this must not be an LT-1 from a Corvette. I do think that the number showed up on 68 or 69 pulleys though but I'm not sure. Wish we could get more input on this. Hopefully, this topic will resurface here on the board soon.

I can try to get the info on the car that this engine/alt is from and that may help establish a time build. I know almost absolutly nothing about Corvette and Camaro after the 1969 model year.

It's supposed to be an original alt so at least we can assume the pulley is an original production line piece but even that isn't proof.

I think someone should repost the original question in a few days so more info comes in. I KNOW there are a lot of unrestored original cars hiding out there with their orig alt pulleys.
