I recently replaced the door panels on my 67 convertible. The car is Goodwood Green with a green vinyl interior. The panels that were in the car when I bought it looked like economy repros. They did not even have the race track trim nor indentations for it. I replaced them with the correct panels. Curiously though when the panels were removed it was noted that both were stamped inside with the date April 12, 1967 in blue ink and the staples and felts looked original. I have never seen 67 door panels without the trim. Was there a version without the trim that was original to the car?

Re: 67 door panels-original?
The inside of my original late '67 door panels read:
M-B May 9, 1967.
It is printed in black ink.
Hope that helps.

Re: 67 door panels-original?
Yes, way back you could get 'economy' versions of certain interior parts where it was assumed you'd move the finishing trim pieces from your original item over onto the base repro. You'll still find some vendors selling 'standard' and 'deluxe' versions of door panels today...- Top
