Perhaps the question should be, "What's right with this Vette?" Where to start....Ok, how bout the dashpad color, or the gauge cluster color. Don't know the correct one. No package tray, no problem!! Nice cut-out for the aftermarket radio!! Door opening globes should be white. Luv the wiring job in the engine compartment!! Fuel line is wrong. Engine compartment repainted? Wiper motor looks black. Wingnut on shielding is wrong. I'm sure there's more I'm missing, but I would luv to see the chassis and underside pics. Ha, ha!!
I'll take a shot at it. Like Mark said the engine compartment has really been worked over. Just a few things I found and I might be wrong but, here goes.
Windshield wipers,Carb return spring bracket, A pellar drip rail on rt side appears to be missing, Fresh air clamp- missing,Coves behind bumpers-not painted,Breather cap,fan-looks like a flex,Ballist resistor, lighter knob,Front hardtop bolt receptacle-painted ,Door reflectors appear to be installed pointing down- Instead of to the rear,Dash end caps and dash pad at A peallar looks wrong,Female latches- no paint at all, Door lock knobs- possible position.
Front bumperettes missing. Not sure about the window cranks.Looks like a 122,000 repainted 62. Like Mark said the bottom side ought to be real interesting.
Here again the description and price are contradicted by what you can see from the few photos. Imagine spending that much money and thinking of all the things you would need to change as soon as you purchased it. The windshield wipers on a 89K car should work properly and the crinkly finish on the L inner fender is suspicious.
Looks like a real nice car on a computer screen and would have less of a problem selling if the deviations were part of the description. If I saw that car at a cruise night, I would think it's a real nice car and compliment the owner. However in this context the third red on this car is a big red flag.
"We stopped detailing the chasis because we saw crayon markings......" Huh??? Maybe they should have started detailing there first and left everything else alone.
Additional minor items include later year distributor hold down and ragtop tabs receptacles are missing from pillar behind and outboard of seats. Nit picking, sure, but for 89K and that description it's an engraved invitation to 'find waldo'. Makes you wonder why it has only 22k miles.
It looks like the one my friend Larry Osoff bought 10 or 15 years ago. It had been cut in half at the bottom of the doors. You could see the seam from under the car. He bought it from an indiviual. He took it back and got his money back. It was red. I offen wondered what happened to that car maybe I now know. Dale
