This is a vintage racer question. Is the windshield frame height different for a convertable and a T top? How does the roof height of a convertable with a hardtop on it compare to a T top? I recognize there are trim differences on the frame , but is the underlying windshield frame the same dimensionally. ie could a convertable windshield fit in a T top car. Jerry

Yes, the windshield frame is dimensionally the same for coupes and convertibles, Jerry. The difference lies in the sheet metal treatment of the rear inside edge with coupes having a 'lip' cutout to support the attachment of the T-top center bar.

For cars that have excessive birdcage rust damage or have been 'rolled', the windshield frame from a scrapyard donor car (either coupe or convertible) can be torch cut and transplanted to the target vehicle to effect repair. While it's a PITA job (LOTS of measuring and re-measuring), we do it rather routinely down at the shop...
