    Corbin Clamps

This is a bonefied emergency! I desparately need some 1/2 inch Corbin Clamps. I've tried all the Corvette "authentic, nuts-on" reproduction joints and nobody gives a damn. I can get 3/8 , 3/4 clamps as part of hose kits but nobody will tell me where to go for 1/2 inch sizes. Is Mr. Corbin & company still around? Who would be likely to have these beasts? Any assistance will be most intensly appreciated. By the way, these clamps have to fit 1/2 inch neoprene hose so I guess they're called 1/2 inch Corbin Clamps.

    I'll check my trash barrel

A corbin clamp will leak. Why would you use such a worthless relic of the past?

I use modern screw clamps from the A&P. Just tighten them until they fail and then back off a half turn.

Screw screw clamps! I "AM" a worthless relic of the past! Why else would I be restoring such a relic as the 1962 Corvette LeMans race car? I don't give a *#%@ if Corbin Clamps do leak, that's the way GM built the car. These will be used on a PCV hose. If you got any, overnight em to me and send a bill later. Thanks,

      Varooom.

Jerry, are you a little tongue-in-cheek here?

I hope there is a little smirk on your face, Jerry?

Dale, Why don't you try to call Year One. They deal in GM cars of that era and have a lot of odd things. I hope this helps. Joe

Dale, Also check a appliance repair store, they are also used on washing machine hoses where they attach to water pump.

Thanks for the help Dave, Joe and all you folks who e-mailed me. I'm off to Maytag! By the way my momma washed my mouth with a rather pedestrian acidy over- mature Chateau Chevry Chambertain 1947. I'll never forgive her. (and it stained my bib-overalls too!)

Dale, since I too am a '62 addict ,I prefer to look under the bonnet of a '62 Whirlpool so I have a better chance to get the dates to match.

i lost a corbin clamp while working on a engine in the car. it flew somewhere and i could not find it. i found it when i started the engine. it flew into the carb and found its way into the cly when i started the engine. made lots of noise and did lots of damage. after that i always took time to find what ever i lost under the hood.
