I just purchased a new voltage regulator for a 67 corvette 327/350hp engine from LectricLimited.
I had a very quick (basic) question:
At the base of the old regulator, 3 screws attach the regulator to the wheelwell through 3 rubber grommets that have a threaded nut imbedded in the grommets. One of the 3 screws has a black wire with a circular connector that appears to be a ground wire connected at the base of the regulator housing. This black wire runs into the wiring harness. It seems odd that this would be grounded here since there are rubber gaskets that connect to the fiberglas wheelwell and it appears that this will not provide a proper ground.
On 67 corvettes, is this ground wire connected to the base of the voltage reg or to another component on the engine?
Thanks!
