1967 427/435 barn find at carlisle......

    hello all,

enjoyed carlisle as always this year despite the threatening weather on saturday when i went. i was salivating over many, many nice cars but my favorite had to be an unrestored green 67 427/435 that was on a trailer (think it was kinda over in the area where the "solid axle club" was displaying their cars). according to the note the owner had on the windshield, it had 37k miles on it and had been in storage for 30 years, with the current owner buying it on aug 18, 2006. this car was in need of a total resto, not because it was wrecked but just because of age/deterioration. it seemed this car had ALL its original pieces (was a m-22, 4:11 gear car) but it needed to be refurbished (paint, engine area etc). anyone else see this car and any comments?

I saw the car also, I spent a while looking it over. I'm sure someone will restore it into a great car. If you noticed all the wheel openings were flared and someone added a third tail light in the rear. So it will take some work to bring it back.
It did look like all the important parts were there.

it had wheel flares? i cant say i noticed that, they must have been very subtle ones. was this a green 67 on a trailer and it had a "marine reservist" sticker on the driver window?

We looked at the car also and took a picture of it and its sign. I wold post but not sure how. I've got pictures of this car on my computer but I can't paste it to this site. Ebay has software that makes posting pictures a breeze. We tried to guess what the market price of this car would be?? Any opinions? At Mecums auction a 435 coupe with doc. and Nabors resto. was bid up to 230K no sale. DG

Yes Im sure I saw the same 67 you mentioned above. It was sitting on a trailer. It did have subtle flares on the front and rear. And the third tail light.

Overheard owner say he turned down $110K

            IMHO it was a mess.
