Water inlet - 365 hp 1964

I understand that an original 365 hp water inlet on the intake is painted aluminum and has a debossed part number. The question I have is what is an original made of and what is the part number and location. I have seen parts that I think are correct, but on one, the number is debossed across the top, and another is at the base between the thru holes, are both correct examples?. Is the part cast or stainless?

The original thermostat housing on my '63 340 is cast iron and 3827370 is "debossed" in the casting across the top of the spherical section. Don't know if this part carried over to '64.

The thermostat housing is cast iron, painted silver, with the part number 3827370 debossed across the top of the housing. The gasket should be painted too...

Dino, I just sold an original on Ebay. It is cast iron with PN on top. I have seen repro in cast alloy. I believe that is incorrect but cheaper.
