I have a leaking problem on my Holley accelerator pump that is driving me crazy. I have pulled the 3606 carburetor on my 390 hp 427 multiple times and have tightened the screws, replaced the diaphragm and it still leaks. I've looked at the surface of the cover and the carburetor for imperfections, but don't see any. It's not a garden-hose type leak, just a gradual seeping. Do I try for one more diaphragm to see if that works?
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mark

Of course, they get warped from tightening the screws too tight because they were leaking in the first place, and something needed to be done to fix it without having the cover "decked" every time, right? A vicious cycle, indeed.
Thanks, Clem. I'll take a look at it and hopefully get a good result this time. Appreciate the advice.

the pump cover sanded flat. the early holleys with the thick pump cover and the countersunk screws are mostly flat but the ones with the cover thinner for screw head clearance in the corners are most always warped.
