Unfortunately, your wiper blades are not original style. Anco never made blades for the 1965 Corvette, and TRICO is the only valid manufacturer. If you need a photo of original wiper blades for a 1965 Corvette, then e-mail me.
Jim/Joe -The 1965 Corvette AIM (at least the copy I have from MAD) shows only one windshield wiper blade assembly, part number 3871085. It's intereting to note that p/n 3871085 is for the ANCO windshield wiper blade and there is no optional windshield wiper blade p/n shown; but we all (well most of us) recognize that both ANCO and TRICO supplied windshield wiper blade assemblies for 1965 Corvettes. The ANCOs supplied as OE equipment were not the type with the red buttons. The 1965 Corvette ANCO blade assembly consisted of a a 3 piece polished holder, 2 side supports or rails called Flex Tops, and the rubber wiper element. See the article in The Corvette Restorer, Vol 27, No. 3, Winter 2001, pages 12-13 for more info on 1965 ANCO windshield wiper blade assemblies. Have fun. Pete
Joe - Oh well. It looks like the St. Louis Production Plant folks forgot to read the judging manual when they built the 1965 Corvettes and used the 1965 AIM instead (see UPC 1 ASM, SHEET E2, page E63 in my MAD 1965 Corvette Assembly Instruction Manual). Pete
I'm not questioning your knowledge, nor am I questioning the AIM, but if Jim or anybody wants to have their car judged with the least problems, then they should follow the judging manual, RIGHT OR WRONG!
My above post was "tongue-in-cheek", as we all know that the "books" are loaded with inaccuracies. Have you tried to get the "book" corrected? I suppose that you might have. As a reult of a photo that I once sent in to the Nat'l. Judging Chmn., I effected a change to the 1965 manual............I was just lucky, I guess.
